Vocarity NetStream VoIP Gateway
The advance of communication technology finally leads to network convergence, i.e. converging both telephone network with computer network. Voice over IP (VoIP) is a new communication technology that allows the transmission of both voice and data through the existing Internet. Because of the relatively low-cost, flat-rate Internet fee, VoIP has become an attractive alternative to regular phone network. It becomes the solution of high communication expenses in companies.
To establish a phone conversation using VoIP, two gateways must exist, each being connected to local phone network. These gateways are also connected to the data network. They work by converting voice into data packets, and streaming it over the data network.
When it comes to gateways, Vocarity VoIP Gateway acts as a powerful one to bridge between PSTN and computer network. It employs H.323 protocol, which enable it to stream data packets through LAN, WAN, and the Internet.
Our Vocarity VoIP Gateway can even connect Video Conference system to a phone network, thus enabling users without Video Conference devices to attend teleconference. Furthermore, Vocarity Voice Gateway also includes Vocarity VoiceStream IVR System, making development of VoIP Calling Card Application easier.
